Scentory Vault ("we," "us") is a personal fragrance collection and wear-tracking app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
- Account information: the email address and password you sign up with (password is hashed by our authentication provider — we never see or store it in plain text).
- Collection data: the fragrances you add — brand, name, concentration, bottle size, remaining volume, purchase price/date/source, and any bottle photos you upload.
- Wear history: when you log a wear — date, spray count, occasion, weather, rating, and which bottles were layered together.
- Catalog requests: if you ask us to add notes or a photo for a fragrance, we store that request and the fragrance it refers to.
- Barcode scans: used only to look up a product for your own entry; the scan itself isn't retained after the lookup.
We do not collect location, contacts, or any data from other apps on your device. Camera and photo-library access are used only when you choose to scan a barcode or attach a bottle photo.
How we use it
Solely to run the app for you: syncing your collection across devices, calculating your wear-based recommendations ("From Your Vault" and "Discover"), and letting you export or restore your own data. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build cross-app profiles.
Who we share it with
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and file-storage provider. Your account and collection data live in a Supabase project we control; Supabase does not use it for its own purposes.
- Catalog images — public fragrance-catalog photos are sourced from Google Images via SerpApi. This lookup is for catalog entries only and never includes your personal or collection data.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Your controls
You can edit or delete any bottle or wear entry directly in the app. To delete your account and all associated data, email us — we'll process the request within 30 days. You may also request a copy of your data in the same way.
Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. Deleted bottles, wears, and photos are removed from active storage; backups are purged on our normal rotation schedule (30 days).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access to your records is enforced by row-level security tied to your account — no other user can read your collection or wear history.
Children's privacy
Scentory Vault is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
